Dr. Kersti Spjut, PhD

Clinical Psychologist

Dr. Kersti Spjut is a clinical psychologist at Excel Psychology, specializing in psychological assessment and therapy for children, adolescents, and adults. She works with individuals, couples, and groups, addressing concerns such as perfectionism, body image, anxiety, and the intersection of chronic illness and mental health.

Dr. Spjut is LGBTQ-affirming and incorporates a Health-At-Every-Size (HAES) framework into her practice. Dr. Spjut also serves as an Assistant Clinical Professor at Brigham Young University, where she supervises psychology doctoral students in advanced psychological assessment.

Outside of her clinical work, Dr. Spjut enjoys exploring the connection between chronic illness and mental health, drawing from her personal experience with Type 1 Diabetes. She has presented at national diabetes educator conferences on the links between diabetes management, perfectionism, body image distress, eating disorders, and suicidality.
