Director of School Services & Lead School Psychologist
Scott Trinh is a school psychologist and Director of School Services at Excel Psychology. He grew up in Virginia as a first-generation American, inspired by his parents’ dedication to education and resilience. His mother, who navigated life with hearing loss, instilled in him an early understanding of individual differences and the power of support.
Scott served as a school psychologist in the Alpine School District for nearly a decade. During his time there, he was fortunate to step into a leadership role on the Psychologist Leadership Team, allowing him to make system-level decisions and guide best practices for school psychologists and special education. Scott currently serves on the Board of Trustees for the Utah Association of School Psychologists, where he helps advance the profession through advocacy, professional development, and initiatives that support the academic, behavioral, and mental health needs of students across the state.
Scott also has international experience, having served as the first school psychologist at Korea International School. There, he also pioneered the school’s multi-tiered system of support (MTSS), a framework that continues to benefit students today. His experience spans diverse populations, including students with Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, learning disabilities, intellectual disabilities, and more. Scott serves diverse and international student communities.
Due to his outstanding service to students and his devotion to the field of school psychology, he was the recipient of Utah's 2025 School Psychologist of the Year Award.
