My interest in therapy developed as a young adult when I began therapy myself. My personal struggles over the years have helped me understand how important non-judgement is in therapy and how beneficial this resource can be. Change is difficult. Opening up is difficult. There is no one size fits all method to accomplish your goals and work through your issues, so I strive to create a personalized approach that best fits you. I am a research-informed, client-centered therapist. Clients often tell me that I balance compassion and directness well. I will meet you where you are at and empower you to continue on your journey to healing and fulfillment, both individually and in your relationships.

It’s my belief that connection with self and others is one of the foundational pillars of health. I also strongly believe in a holistic approach to healing and have personal investment in the health and wellness field. Exercise and nutrition have been key in my own journey, as well as trusting my intuition and learning to advocate for myself. I love helping my clients connect with themselves and their innate ability to heal and be well.

I have worked in the mental health field since 2017; first as a staff member in a community based mental health facility, then as a caseworker and finally as a therapist beginning in 2020. I have experience with diverse populations and have worked with a variety of mental health struggles including severe and persistent mental illness, substance use, trauma and mood disorders. As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, I use an attachment based approach and systems theory to guide my practice. I incorporate emotionally focused therapy in my sessions as well as aspects of narrative therapy, CBT and DBT. I am also EMDR trained and have found this to be a great tool for overcoming trauma.

Some populations and presentations I particularly enjoy working with are couples and families, adopted teens, teens struggling with defiance, behavioral issues and substance use, adults struggling with substance use and anyone battling a mood disorder. I love therapy and the growth and progress I get to witness with my clients. I’m excited to be working with Excel Psychology and it would be my privilege to work with you towards your goals!
