About Us

Stacy Acor, EdS

As a child and adolescent, I always wanted to pursue a career in the medical field. However, I became fascinated by the mind and behaviors of people when I took a general psychology course in college. This fascination eventually led me to change my major to psychology.

In 2005, I finished a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology from Brigham Young University, with a minor in marriage, family, and human development. After graduating, I worked as a behavior interventionist and psychosocial rehabilitation provider in Idaho Falls, Idaho. In these roles, I had the opportunity to teach children and adolescents skills to help them regulate their behaviors and emotions in the home, school, and community settings. I developed a passion for working with individuals who have autism and found it very rewarding to see clients make progress as they applied the skills they were taught. While working with a client in the school setting, I had the opportunity to collaborate with her school psychologist, and I saw value in the roles she played in evaluating students for school-based services and developing behavior intervention plans.

Through these experiences, I felt school psychology was a good fit for my background and interests. I enrolled in the school psychology program at Idaho State University and completed a Master of Education degree in 2008 and an Educational Specialist degree in 2010.

I had the opportunity to complete a school psychology internship with Ogden School District during the 2009-2010 school year and continued to work as a school psychologist in Ogden from 2010-2015. During my experiences there, I was fortunate to learn from colleagues who had extensive knowledge about autism, learning disabilities, and evaluating students with English as a second language. I also served on the district’s traumatic brain injury team and helped develop plans for students to transition back to school after having a brain injury.

From 2015-2022, I worked as a school psychologist for Bonneville School District in Idaho Falls, where my roles primarily consisted of doing psychoeducational evaluations and behavior consultation. In 2022, I moved back to Utah for a school psychologist opportunity with Box Elder School District. I value opportunities for learning and professional growth, and I am excited for the opportunity to further my psychological assessment experience with Excel Psychology.
